Took my dad's truck in for an oil change and specifically requested that they check all the tire pressures because I would be traveling cross country the next day. They said it was included in the service. The next morning, I checked the pressures just to be sure, and they were all different and all low. A few weeks later, my recently widowed mother took her car in for an oil change, and they convinced her she needed her power steering fluid changed by showing her a dab of her fluid on a card next to a dot of color that was supposed to be new fluid. Power steering fluid rarely needs to be changed, unless there are steering problems with the car. And if the color of the fluid had anything to do with its effectiveness, you'd have to change it every month. The car's fluid had been changed only a month before, so my mom got taken for $50 in this scam. I'll be lodging a complaint with the Capin corporate offices.
